10 Wishes For My Son

May you always know my little one you were wished for, longed for, prayed for, and wanted.”

I hope you follow right from wrong and do the right thing, even if it’s hard. I hope you have the understanding of consequences for each action and that it is ok to not follow what others are doing.

I wish you all the love in the world. I hope you love on others in a caring way. Include others if you see them alone. Care, understand and bring joy. I hope you love yourself and are able to find your worth and don’t allow others to lessen it. Love others, the world and yourself.

I hope for you to always be in good health. Nourish your body, take care of it and don’t allow substances to poison it.

I hope you know the value of everything around you. Food, housing, relationships, etc. Don’t take a single thing for granted because it can all be taken faster than it is given.

I hope you find people and professions that bring you joy. Not only that, I hope you continue spreading happiness to everyone around you. Let your smile and laugh bring joy to others.

Be true to yourself and others. Surround yourself with people who don’t change you but bring out the best in you. Don’t lie to friends, family or yourself. The truth always comes out eventually and is liberating.

Own Your Feelings

Allow yourself to feel all your emotions. Sad, happy, mad, lonely, etc. but don’t allow the bad ones to take over your life. Feel them but handle them appropriately and in a healthy way.

I hope you continue to show interest in learning new things. Push yourself to explore the unknown and gain experiences. Whatever interest you may have, learn the in’s and out’s. Have an open mind to things you don’t know much about.

I hope you surround yourself with family. Whether it be you, dad and I, or a family of your own. I hope you keep them first and care for them as much as you do now.

I hope you keep your faith the center of your life. Remain close to God and your faith and everything else will fall into place. This isn’t to say there won’t be struggles, because there will, but hold on to your faith that everything will work out in time.
